The first case of Covid – 19 was reported in India, January 2020 and since then we have had two
waves, approximately 3 crore people were infected and around 4 lakh people have succumbed to it
according to reported numbers.
Under the wing of Smita Vallurupalli, Alai foundation was created and has been providing relief since
2014, just focusing on the Pandemic in the last year under the initiative #SmitaCare, Alai foundation
has aided and relieved more than 5000 people by providing medicinal kits, food and oxygen
concentrators to the needful, to fight Covid -19.
In this fight against Covid -19, this is our first opportunity to fight back as individuals and as a society, As individuals, we get vaccinated and as a part of a society it is our moral responsibility to help get
those vaccinated who cannot themselves.

Large scale vaccination, to eradicate Covid-19 is the need of the hour in India. We are running an
outreach programme to the Urban and Rural areas of AP and TS. Only 51% of the vaccines are
reaching rural areas, which constitute 70% of the Indian population. In our battle against covid – 19
we will not ignore the plight of rural India.
Our initiative will donate to the part of the society that cannot afford a vaccine, and to others who can

Through the Donate A Vaccine, it will be our agenda to create awareness on the importance of
vaccination, along with busting myths. Alai foundation will facilitate the vaccination for those who
are unable to afford vaccination or do not have the means, like internet or a smart phone to book their
slots.
